This is a vase made from Hida Takayama's traditional craft "Hida Shunkei" (lacquered). Using locally produced cedar, it is finished with transparent lacquer to bring out the beauty of the dignified wood grain.

 

The wood was carved using a wood lathe, and the shape was created by rotating the material at high speed and slowly carving it with a ring-shaped blade.

 

Each piece has a different grain, so each piece has a serial number.
